For this ceiling accent, we specified tanguile wood (also known as Philippine Mahogany). It provides the reddish and vibrant brown that we are aiming for. We paired the tanguile ceiling accent with rose gold chandelier to create that warmth amiance.
Wood can also be used to frame the wall that will also serve as accent wall. For this dining room, we specified darker shade of varnish to accentuate and highlight the wood grains.
A nice ribbon grain plywood can turn your boring bookshelf into accent piece. Thin layer of wood wax can be applied to highlight the beauty of its wood grain.
“Wood has been my favorite material for construction for so many years. It provides warmth, comfort and elegance. There are so many ways to successfully add wood element to my designs. We usually use reconstituted wood, recycled wood, owner’s existing wood collection or even wood veneers that were produced in a eco-conscious environment” Christine says.
